Bed and Breakfast
YOUR HOSTS
John Sam Jones and Jupp Korsten
With a name like Jupp Korsten you wouldn't expect a Brit. And no - Jupp's
not Dutch. Until December 2006 he was a senior lecturer in German at Liverpool
John Moores University. Since then, for a few weeks each year, he accompanies
German tour groups visiting the Snowdonia National Park.
John grew up in Barmouth and his family has lived on the banks of the river
Mawddach for three centuries. He's done lots of things - a science teacher,
a chaplain in hospitals and prisons, a sexual health worker, an education
administrator and more recently a writer... you can even buy one of his books
(or get them all off Amazon!). The dogs, Wash and Nel, are very people-friendly
and though they don't get to come into the 'public' parts of the house, you
are likely to get licked if you meet them. We have a cat too - Donna; she's
a bit feral!
We're keen hikers, and can offer you lots of tips on local walks... Barmouth really is an ideal base for a walking
holiday.

2012 will be our third year at Dros y Dŵr,
but we are 'seasoned' B&B hosts, having run a farmhouse B&B in the Rhinog
Mountains since 2007. It is a huge privilege to live in such a beautiful house,
set in a stunning location with views across the estuary to Cader Idris. We
hope that your stay with us will be memorable (for all the right reasons)...
comments in our Visitors' Book refer to 'stunning views', 'quality hospitality',
'the best pancakes', 'delicious bread' and 'fantastic breakfast'.
